ACHIEVE kick-off meeting
The kick-off meeting of ACHIEVE, a Horizon Europe project that aims to strengthen and scale up high-integrity voluntary climate action, was held online on the 22 of January 2024. Our next meeting will be on site this summer of 2024 in Nijmegen.
The meeting began with the introduction of our project members and the reiteration of our project’s main goal.
The specific objectives of the project were discussed emphasising cross-cutting issues such as high integrity principles, VCIs, carbon credits, regulation and governance, aggregation, and interaction of voluntary climate action, dissemination, communication, and exploitation.
Each member presented their area of interest, their responsibilities on the project, and the methodology they will follow to achieve them. After discussing the collaboration strategy, the members pointed out the important role of the stakeholder board in the outreach function of the project and emphasised on the trans- and interdisciplinary nature of the project.
With this kick-off meeting, ACHIEVE starts its journey to identify opportunities that will strengthen and scale up high-integrity voluntary climate action towards achieving net-zero emissions by mid-century.
