ACHIEVE General Assembly Brings Partners Together in The Hague to Advance Research on Voluntary Climate Action
The ACHIEVE consortium recently convened in The Hague, the Netherlands, for its General Assembly, hosted by PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency. The meeting brought together project partners from across Europe and beyond to review progress, exchange knowledge, and discuss the next phases of the project.
Throughout the General Assembly, partners shared updates on ongoing research activities exploring the role, effectiveness, and governance of Voluntary Climate Actions in supporting climate mitigation and adaptation efforts. Discussions focused on strengthening the evidence base needed to better understand how voluntary initiatives can contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement and broader climate goals.
A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of research examining Voluntary Climate Actions in Latin America and the Caribbean, developed through collaboration between consortium partners and researchers from Radboud University. This work contributes valuable insights into the conditions that enable climate initiatives to become more effective, inclusive, and sustainable over time.
The General Assembly also provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration across work packages, align upcoming activities, and discuss future project outputs, stakeholder engagement efforts, and research priorities.
ACHIEVE extends its gratitude to PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency for hosting the meeting and to all consortium partners for their continued commitment to advancing knowledge and policy-relevant research on voluntary climate action.
