Webinar - The Commission proposal on an EU 2040 climate target

On 2 July 2025, the European Commission will propose an EU climate target for 2040. This webinar will provide an overview and assessment of key elements of the proposal based on a policy brief that was partially prepared acknowledging ACHIEVE funding. This includes the target level and scope, the use possible use of international carbon credits under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, and how the land-use sector and international aviation and shipping are reflected in the target.
