Building Trust in Climate Action

Many groups pledge to fight climate change, but how do we know it’s more than greenwashing? The Horizon Europe ACHIEVE project makes sure climate actions are credible, effective, and impactful, helping us all move closer to net-zero.

From local communities to global companies, more and more groups are pledging climate actions. By reducing emissions and strengthening resilience, they’re helping turn the Paris Agreement into reality. But not all of these promises are reliable. Some cover only small parts of their actually emissions, others depend on questionable solutions. This raises concerns about greenwashing. That’s why integrity is making sure actions are real, transparent, and effective.

The ACHIEVE project works to strengthen and scale up trustworthy voluntary climate action. It does this by:

  • Studying how effective and reliable these actions really are.
  • Checking their real impacts.
  • Exploring how policies and voluntary efforts can support each other.
  • Sharing scientific insights to help grow credible, high-impact climate action.
